This is a FREE event to help promote awareness for the importance of curricular art programs. Recent studies have shown that school art programs result in higher attendance and better behavior in students. The arts foster advanced social and problem-solving skills, and promote positive self-expression.
This is an artist organized event to help young future artist still in elementary, middle school and high school. As artist we know the importance of learning this at a young age we want to make sure the arts never get cut from schools.
There will feature live music by Mirk and the New Familiars. Aside from a featured gallery of local art, there will be a side walk chalk contest with prizes for the kids (age 3 and up, and you) installations, characture drawings, free give-a ways, and refreshments, we also will be having a raffle which you can win some great prizes ($100′s of dollars in prizes.) The money raised through raffle/donations will go toward a scholarship for local high school senior to aid in continuing a promising artistic future.
